Please note, it is usually beneficial for all students to have internship experience. For undergraduate credit, please refer to the guidelines here:
http://ccistudentcenter.posterous.com/undergraduate-internship-requirements-for-cre Please note, for summer internship credit, you would need to pay for summer school tuition. If you don’t need the credit and don’t want to pay the tuition, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t gain the experience, however. You can do an internship for no credit.
Note, that we don’t place anyone. I send out internship listings as I get them. We are also hosting an Internship and Entry –Level Tech Jobs Fair on April 12, 5-7 in the Ballroom. We’re expecting about 20 employers who have tech summer/fall internships and entry-level positions for very recent grads. More details will follow: http://www.facebook.com/events/347992895230462/
In the meantime, I encourage you to attend one of the following orientations on internships offered by the Career Services. (And check out their Internship Madness contest!)
From Career Services:
If you’re looking for an internship, then, you might want to attend an Internship Orientation Workshop in Career Services. There’s one tonight at 6:30 pm. These 1-hour workshops are aimed to: 1) educate students in a general way about how internships are organized here at UAlbany; 2) provide students with a strategy to look for internship opportunities; and 3) to offer general tips about resources and other opportunities students may not have thought about. Only 6 sessions remain for the semester:
March 20 (TODAY): 6:30 pm
March 27: 6:30 pm
April 3: 6:30 pm
April 10: 5:30 pm
April 17: 5:30 pm
April 24: 6:30 pm
All workshops are an hour long and they are always on Tuesdays in Career Services (Science Library, G-50). If you can’t make any of these workshops, feel free to schedule an appointment with a career counselor in Career Services. Let me know if you have any questions.
