Volunteers Needed for Junior FIRST LEGO League Expo – Snack Attack

Are you available December 3, 2011?

Would you like a fun, rewarding, and easy way to earn volunteer hours?

Volunteer at the Junior FIRST LEGO League Expo!

We are hosting our 4th Annual Junior FIRST Lego League Expo on December 3 in the Campus Center Ballroom and we need help! There are two shifts from 10-1 PM and 12:30-4 PM.

The Expo is an opportunity for teams to show off and celebrate their hard work. Teams are made up of 6-9 year old children from the area who have been working on the FIRST theme of “Snack Attack” using Lego bricks to solve a food safety and healthy eating problem. Yes, this is a hard problem and team work is hard. So we use the Expo to really have fun and help the kids connect technology (the legos) with science (medicine) and celebration (we do a hi-five line like sports stars!).

This year we are partnering with Girl Scouts, Time Warner, and KeyBank—thanks to their overwhelming generosity we’re expecting about 160 children plus their coaches, mentors and families! But we need help in making it all happen.
